Wiltshire Citizens Advice to offer services from the Library in Calne

Calne CAB moving to Library from October 2016Local charity, Wiltshire Citizens Advice is relocating its offices in Calne.
From Monday 3 October 2016 Wiltshire Citizens Advice will operate out of the newly refurbished facilities at the Calne Community Hub and Library.
They will offer free advice, help and information services to the community, two days a week. Once up and running they hope to recruit more volunteers to train as advisers to enable the charity to extend its opening hours.
The development will house improved library facilities, the Calne Community Hub, as well as Citizens Advice services and other partner services all in one place.
The library and hub development is part of Wiltshire Council's health and wellbeing centre programme and it includes a new bookable meeting room for up to 14 people and a smaller room for up to four people. The existing library has also been refurbished with flexible shelving space to allow the building to be used for larger meetings or events in the evenings.
Sarah Cardy, Chief Executive Officer, Wiltshire Citizens Advice said:
“We are delighted to be a part of the services on offer at the Calne Community Hub and Library.
“In 2015 almost 200 people visited the CAB in Calne for help with almost 500 problems. However our offices in Coleman’s Farm Community Centre are not always that easy for people to find.
“It makes sense, financially and in practice for us to be where people are.
“We already work in partnership with Wiltshire Council and other organisations, by co-locating our services within purpose built modern facilities we hope more people will be able to access our services and get the support they need.
“The new hub will provide a central place in Calne for our advice services and our new offices in the library will offer a much nicer environment for staff, volunteers and clients.”
The CAB offices in Coleman’s Farm Community Centre, Calne will close on Friday 30 September 2016.
Wiltshire Citizens Advice will reopen on Monday 3 October 2016 in their new offices at the Library, The Strand, Calne SN11 0JU. Their opening hours will be Monday and Friday 10am to 1pm.
Outside these hours people can get advice online at www.citizensadvice.org.uk or over the phone, by calling 03444 111 444. Phone lines are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
